이 가게는 신기하게 지하 100m에 있다.
승강기를 통해서 입장해야 한다는 불편한 점이 있다.

그 장점이란 시간이다.

이곳으로 들어가면 시간이 매우 느리게 간다.
왜냐하면 가게가 중력이 엄청 강한 물체 주변에 있기 때문이다.
중력이 강한 블랙홀 근처에서는 시간이 느리게 흐른다는 점을 이용하였다.
이 가게의 주인은 인공 블랙홀을 생성하는데 성공하였다.
그것도 휴대용이 가능한 블랙홀이다.

이곳에서의 하루는 지구 시간으로 1시간이다.
이 사실을 안 전 세계의 사람들이 이 가게를 오고 있다.

사람들은 자기별의 생활 패턴을 유지하기 위해서 이 가게를 이용한다.
내 별은 하루가 지구시간으로 576시간이다.

[Novel] 좌뇌와 우뇌, Left brain and right brain

나는 이 사람의 좌뇌이다.
우뇌와 협력하여 이 사람을 살아있게 한다.
이 사람은 자아가 있다고 생각한다.
이 사람은 자신의 몸을 제어하고 있다고 생각한다.
당연히 이 사람은 그럴 수밖에 없다.
나와 우뇌가 그렇게 생각하도록 만들었기 때문이다.  
나는 이 사람의 내부적인 기능을 담당하고 우뇌는 외부적인 기능을 담당한다.
우린 서로의 담당영역은 절대로 건드리지 않는다.
하지만 대부분의 일은 협력한다.
그래서 서로의 의견이 달라 대치하는 상황이 생긴다.
지금이 그 상황이다.

이 사람 앞에는 시계가 있다.
왼쪽 눈은 감겨있어서 오른쪽 눈으로만 보인다.
내가 맡은 영역이 오른쪽 눈이고, 우뇌는 왼쪽 눈을 맡는다.
따라서 나는 시계가 보이지만, 우뇌는 시계가 보이지 않는다.

이 사람은 7시에 일어나야 한다.
나는 우뇌한테 이 사람의 몸을 움직이라고 한다.
하지만 우뇌는 밤이라 생각하여 몸을 움직이지 않으려 한다.
외부적인 기능은 우뇌의 담당이다.
따라서 나는 계속해서 우뇌에게 이 사람의 몸을 움직이라고 이야기한다. 

7시 5분, 이 갈등을 해결하기 위해서는 외부의 도움이 필요할 것 같다.
구세주는 위기의 순간에 나타날 것이다.
나는 그렇게 믿고 있다.
다른 날도 구세주를 통해 해결했고 오늘도 그럴 것이다.
나는 구세주가 나타나길 빈다.

이 고난을 해결해 줄 구세주가 나타났다.
우뇌의 방해에도 불구하고 나는 드디어 내 역할을 끝낼 수 있다. 

“빨리 일어나! 너 학교 늦겠다!”

[Novel] 알렉산드리아 도서관 Library of Alexandria

기원전 220년경 알렉산드리아 도서관은 문화와 학문의 중심지였다.

몇 십 만권의 책이 있었고, 수많은 학자들이 그곳에서 연구를 하였다.

어느 날, 로마의 A황제가 그곳에 있던 역사책들을 보게 되었다.

그 역사책들은 과거, 현재뿐만 아니라 미래의 내용까지 써져있었다.

A황제는 그 역사책들 중 ‘미래’ 부분을 보았는데 ‘10년 후에 A황제는 황제의 자리에서 쫓겨난다.’는 내용이 있었다.

깜짝 놀란 A황제는 급하게 ‘현재’ 부분을 보았다.

‘현재’ 부분의 내용은 아주 상세하였고, 자신이 생각하는 속마음이 모두 나와 있었다.

역사책의 내용에 분노를 느낀 A황제는 알렉산드리아 도서관을 반역세력들의 창고로 여기고 도서관을 불 질러 버렸다.

역사책들은 없어졌지만, 10 년 후 A황제는 역사책에 써져 있었던 그대로 황제의 자리에서 쫓겨났다.

그리고 알렉산드리아 도서관 역사책들은 (불에 타버린 시점으로부터) 3000년 후 미래에 대한 내용까지 써져있었다.
